Wild Hearted Sons are a London-based four-piece hard rock band featuring James ‘Jamie’ Wood on vocals, Jake and Cameron Storey on guitar and drums, and George Finch on bass. The band draw their wild, untamed sound from a huge range of influences; a core built with bands like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Rival Sons, and AC/DC, mixed in with lashings of The Black Crowes, The Cult, Alice In Chains, plus a sprinkle of more progressive influences from bands like TOOL, all finally tied together with the fire of bands like Rage Against The Machine and Extreme. Refusing to be pigeonholed, their style pushes and stretches at the boundaries of modern hard rock. The band has been working on their first release, a self-produced EP that will be available soon on both major streaming platforms and physical media. With a ravenous appetite ready to be sated, stay ready - the Wild Hearted Sons are primed to play, perform, and carve out their piece of the modern rock and metal scene.

Jamie

James ‘Jamie’ Wood, a self-described ‘baritone with delusions of grandeur’ takes up primary duty on the microphone for the band. Previously of the classic metal band MILLSTONE, his comfort zone stretches from low, husky, crunchy-edged vocals to raw, rippingly high emotion, plus everything and anything in between. He discovered his talent for singing at 17, after giving it a go only because no one else in his first band wanted the responsibility. While he was a late bloomer vocally, he always dreamed of emulating those he considered to be the greats, no matter the genre. Incredible rock and metal tenors like Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, Ian Astbury, Jay Buchanan, and Steve Perry drove Jamie to sing higher and harder, while singers like Till Lindemann, Thomas Borchert, Frank Sinatra, and Eddie Vedder motivated him to explore his lower registers and ‘use the whole cow’. While he brings a definitive heavy metal colour to the band’s sound, it is tempered with influences from musical theatre, industrial, the occasional bit of pop, and more besides.

Jake

Jake is the band’s guitarist and the older half of the two Wild Hearted Brothers. As the band’s sole guitarist, he faces the tall order of managing rhythm and lead duties simultaneously every time he slings his strap across his shoulders, but he rises to it with ripping hot steam in his hands and an army of pedals beneath his feet. A guitarist since he was around 13 or 14, he has dedicated himself to the craft ever since. Jake pulls inspiration from a massive range of guitarists. To name but a few; the legendary Angus Young, Slash, George Lynch, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, John Mayer, Satchel, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Adam Jones, Rich Robinson… The list never ends, and more inspirations are added all the time. Jake also regularly performs with his covers band, Apache Rose, across Guilford and Surrey.

Cam

Cameron is the band’s drummer and the younger of the two Wild Hearted Brothers. He picked up his sticks a decade ago at the age of 11. His influences include Lars Ulrich, Danny Carey, Igor Cavalera, Eloy Casagrande and Dave Lombardo, plus plenty more besides. For almost as long as he can remember, Cameron has loved rock and metal, so it’s no surprise the huge influence they’ve had on his playing style. His contribution to the band’s unique sound fuses both his hard rock, metal and progressive influences, he’s the band’s hammer;  delivering raw power and thundering fills, but with the finesse and technique to back it up.

George

George is the bass player for Wild Hearted Sons, holding down the low end and providing the foundation of the band’s sound. He first picked up a bass at 12, inspired by some of the greats of rock and metal, including John Entwistle, John Paul Jones, John Deacon and Steve Harris. Over time, George has developed his own style that combines power, melody and a strong sense of groove into an irresistible mix. Within Wild Hearted Sons, that style asserts itself, standing proud and tall at all times, commanding the respect that a great bass line deserves. He brings the weight and drive that ties everything else together, while also adding his own character to the band’s music.
